Sidney McKinney
Apprentice Therapist
Sidney is completing her Masters is Social Work from Colorado State University, with a certificate in Advanced Clinical Behavioral Health. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon, majoring in Family and Human Services and a minor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
Sidney infuses care, curiosity, authenticity, and occasionally humor into her interactions with clients so they can hopefully feel at ease to bring their truest and fullest self to sessions.
Sidney believes that balancing empathy and accountability can lead to significant personal growth. She appreciates when clients identify their own goals, are willing to be honest with where they are, and challenge themselves to meet those self-identified goals.
Sidney sees a variety of clients, but specializes in working with young adults (teenagers to early-20s), Veterans, grief and loss, and substance use.
Sidney enjoys moving her body through yoga, tennis, running or hiking. She can often be found watching sports, spending time with friends, or nurturing her newest hobby at the ceramics studio.
