Katya Hropova

Katya has a Master's degree in Somatic Psychotherapy from Naropa University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado and also a certified meditation instructor. Katya is originally from Estonia, but has been living in the United States for a long time.
Deeply inspired by yoga and meditation, Katya’s focus is to encourage connection to self and the body as a source of wisdom and guidance. A personal journey of developing a healthy, kind, and loving relationship with the self, led to an overarching aim of Katya’s work with clients. In her work, Katya weaves together Self-Compassion, Embodied Self-Awareness, and Somatic Psychotherapy, as well as meditation, movement, and the wisdom of Tarot and metaphoric cards when the clients are curious to explore those modalities.
Katya specializes in working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety and are looking to develop self-regulation skills. Women who are dealing with anxiety and self-criticism, who are looking to find a deeper connection with their bodies and to learn skillful self-regulation may benefit from partnering with Katya. Additionally, anyone who is interested in learning about meditation as a way to connect to self.
Katya has had professional experience working with women in equine therapy setting where participants were learning to set boundaries, to navigate anxiety and fear, and to develop self-compassion. She is most interested in helping clients thrive in all aspects of life.
Katya enjoys nature and flowers. Walking through beautiful gardens is one of her favorite rejuvenating activities. She is also passionate about traveling, exploring, dancing, and sharing meals with friends.
