Christina Devore
Pre-Licensed Therapist
Christina Devore (she/her), MA, LPCC, spent many years in the service industry, listening, witnessing and reflecting other people’s experiences, which led her to realize a different underlying passion. She chose to move into a career where others can be seen and heard in the absence of judgment while they go through their process towards healing. Recognizing the positive impact of connecting with others and the natural world, she became motivated to start her own mental health journey. Shortly after, she moved from the hill country of Austin, Texas, to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where she finished her BA in Psychology from CSU. She went on to further her education at Naropa University, where she obtained an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a concentration in Transpersonal Wilderness Therapy. In addition, Christina is currently pursuing a certification in Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy.
Christina has experience working with adolescents and adults, and is also open to working with couples and groups. She believes every one of us is unique and therefore focuses on creating a safe space for people to bring their authentic selves into the present moment. Figuring out who that self is can sometimes be the most challenging, which is why she believes psychoeducation can be a very beneficial component of therapy. This is where individuals can begin enhancing their skills in communication, emotional regulation and boundary setting, eventually leading to increased self-awareness and self-acceptance.
In sessions you may experience different modalities of her integrative approach, such as Gestalt, mindfulness-based, nature-based, cognitive behavioral, transpersonal, somatic and client centered therapies. Christina uses a trauma-informed lens to support individuals in navigating through anxiety, depression, grief, relational issues, self-harm, suicidal ideation, lowered self-esteem and life transitions. In addition to teletherapy and office therapy, Christina offers opportunities to process in the presence of the natural world. In addition to spending lots of time outdoors, Christina enjoys sports, live music, traveling, and snuggling with her cat Ninja.
