Barbara Quinto-Huarez, MSW, SWC (She/Her/Ella) has both her Master's and Bachelor's in Social Work. Barbara is a Clinical Social Work Candidate working towards her Clinical Social Work License.
Barbara's personal approach to therapy is systemic. She believe that an individuals history, culture, community, and relationships are integral parts of who they are and how they show up in the world. Barbara likes giving her clients honest observations and providing insight-oriented questions focused at helping clients understand themselves and those around them better. Barbara's goal as a therapist is for clients to leave sessions feeling safe, heard, and empowered to take ownership of their life.
Barbara knows the power of deconstructing and reconstructing. It is a privilege to be able to support and collaborate with individuals, couples, and families towards their goals and have them lead their ideal life. Barbara specializes in trauma (sexual violence, domestic violence, interpersonal violence) depression, anxiety, chronic pain/illness, and substance use. Barbara also has experience working with families and couples that are going through life changes and adjustments periods. Barbara's ideal client is ready for transformation and is willing to dive deep into their personal life and their relationships. Barbara is a focused therapist and uses her time intentionally, while prioritizing her client’s goals.
Barbara is proud to be a Latinx bilingual female therapist. Barbara was born in Lima, Peru and migrated to Denver Colorado when she was three years old. Barbara understands the human need for belonging while also knowing the importance of representation in all types of spaces.
Barbara loves an early morning work out class, followed by good food, and tea of any form (preferably boba). Barbara and her partner love seeing life through their sweet and silly two year old.
