At Khesed, our vision is our horizon—it's where we're headed, driven by our deepest beliefs. We hold a firm conviction that everyone deserves access to high-quality, affordable outpatient mental health therapy. This isn’t just a luxury; it’s a human right.

Our Vision: Access for All

We envision a world where the barriers to mental health care are dismantled, especially for the marginalized. These barriers include unaffordable costs, lack of insurance coverage, unavailable providers, and therapy deserts—areas where access to mental health services is scarce or nonexistent. At Khesed, we are committed to eliminating these roadblocks, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, can access the high-quality and culturally-centered outpatient mental health therapy they need.

Our vision doesn’t stop with clients—we also aim to create a supportive environment where therapists can thrive. We believe that when therapists are supported, they can offer the best care to those who need it most.

Our Values: The Path We Walk

While our vision points us toward the future, our values guide us on the journey. They are the principles that shape how we work, how we interact with others, and how we live out our mission every day.

Reciprocity

At Khesed, we believe in the power of reciprocity—the active flow of giving and receiving that sustains relationships and communities. Khesed fosters relationships that are built on mutual support, where everyone has the opportunity to both give and receive. We recognize that extremes of only giving or only taking disrupt this flow, harming both individuals and the collective. Reciprocity, for us, centers on the thriving of both the individual and the community together.

Abundance

We believe in abundance, not scarcity. There is more than enough to thrive, and this belief informs our approach to everything we do. Experiencing abundance in urgency, pace, and planning gives us the energy to embody khesed. We understand that diversity and abundance go hand-in-hand, and we value the rich variety of experiences and perspectives that our community brings. Khesed is an answer—one of many—for therapists and clients, and we embrace the diversity of approaches that contribute to a thriving mental health ecosystem.

Invitation

Growth at Khesed is fueled by invitation. We expand through invitations from community leaders to start site partnerships, corporate programs, and pro bono initiatives. Invitations are about relationships, not transactions. They prioritize connection and collaboration, allowing for creativity and organic growth. We invite individuals and communities to join us throughout the year, honoring each person’s choice to participate and contributing to a sense of belonging and shared purpose.

Anti-Oppression

Khesed is committed to creating an environment where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity. We celebrate all identities and bodies, in all of their intersectional beauty. We welcome people of every race, color, religion (creed) or spirituality, gender identity or expression, age, national or ethnic origin (ancestry), disability, marital or relationship status, sex (including pregnancy), sexual or romantic orientation, or military status in all of our activities and operations.

We honor body size diversity and support each person’s unique body and lived experience in their pursuit of wellness. Khesed is committed to being actively anti-racist as an organization, and we are dedicated to deepening our anti-racism efforts within the mental health industry as a whole. LGBTQ+ advocacy, allyship, and affirmative therapy are core to who we are, reflecting our commitment to fostering a truly inclusive environment.

As an equal opportunity employer, Khesed takes affirmative action in all of its employment activities. We are dedicated to creating a workplace and a community where everyone can thrive, free from discrimination and oppression.

Join Us on the Journey

We invite you to join us as we strive to live into khesed, both individually and collectively. Our vision and values are not just words—they are the actions we take and the principles we live by as we work toward a world where everyone has access to the mental health care they deserve. Together, we can create a future defined by loving kindness, justice, and the thriving of all.
