Sarah Fizer
Apprentice Social Worker
Sarah Fizer (She/Her) has a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. She is currently working toward her Master's degree in Social Work with a certificate in Advanced Clinical Behavioral Health. Sarah holds a holistic view of wellbeing that incorporates the social, cultural, psychological, economic, and physical aspects of client experiences. She strives to create a warm and judgment free space to explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, identities, and relationships.
Sarah seeks to highlight and build upon already present strengths and resilience. Through mutual collaboration with clients, she emphasizes opportunities to create change and works toward acceptance of what we cannot control. Sarah finds empowerment and joy in sharing moments of connection, mindfulness, or emotional release with fellow human beings. She is continuously amazed by the resilience, persistence, and capacity to change we all possess and hopes to highlight this as a therapist.
Sarah specializes in Sexuality and Gender Identity issues, Coping/Resilience/Mindfulness skills, Suicidality, Chronic Mental Illness, Addictions, and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Individuals who are willing to openly and honestly explore their experiences, identities, and struggles may benefit from collaborating with Sarah within a therapeutic relationship. Sarah currently co-facilitates a peer support group for LGBTQIA2S+ students where she implements mindfulness, resilience, community building, and advocacy practices.
Sarah enjoys playing the piano, singing, painting, and baking tasty treats. Any of these activities paired with coffee is perfect for her!
