Raquel Monell (she/her), MA, LPC, NCC received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. She values creating an environment that promotes a deepening of awareness and acceptance to promote clients' movement towards their identified hopes for change. Raquel has worked extensively with kids, teens, and families through a variety of therapeutic concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship and familial challenges, individual and family/generational trauma, as well as topics on spirituality and faith and racial-cultural identities.
Raquel approaches the therapeutic relationship with a deep reverence for joining clients collaboratively in exploring their unique life stories, in all their intersectionalities. She is energized in co-creating spaces of mutual respect and sensitivity within diverse family systems, including adoptive, multi-generational, immigrant, refugee, and asylum-seeking families. Raquel received her Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, further fostering her love and curiosity of cultural, racial, and value-based expressions across diversified communities within the U.S. and internationally. Raquel draws from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Narrative, Gestalt, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Raquel is passionate about mental health equity and expanding access to quality services amongst diverse populations stateside and abroad. Raquel enjoys listening to and creating music, dancing, outdoor adventures, and international travel.
